Psalm 18:1-2 declares: "I love you, Lord; you are my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my saviour; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety."
David, the author of this psalm, knew what it meant to face challenges. He had experienced danger, betrayal, and overwhelming trials, yet he placed his trust in God in the midst of it all. He didn't just acknowledge God’s help - he declared his love and confidence in the One who had never failed him.
God is our rock, our fortress, and our saviour. He is unshakable, immovable, and secure. In a world where so much is uncertain, where circumstances change in an instant, we have a firm foundation in Him. When troubles come, we don't have to be overcome by fear, because we stand on the solid ground of God's faithfulness.
But this truth isn't just something to hold onto in times of crisis. It's a truth that should shape how we go and live every day. Knowing that God is our strength means we don't have to rely on our own abilities. Knowing that He is our fortress means we can step forward in faith, not held back by fear. Knowing that He is our saviour means we can live with confidence, knowing that our future is secure in His hands.
So what does this mean for us today?
It means we are called to Go! And trust in the Lord.
Go! And face the day with confidence, knowing that God is your strength.
Go! And stand firm in faith, because He is your rock and fortress.
Go! And live boldly, sharing His love and truth with those around you.
No matter what you face, you are not alone. The God who saved David is the same God who walks with you. He is your shield, your protector, and your place of safety. So don't let fear or uncertainty hold you back - trust in the Lord, and go forward in His strength today!
